Kaity Schanks

Kaity began a serious love affair with yoga when she discovered Surya Yoga Academy hoping to calm her hectic life, and live a healthier lifestyle. After one class, she quickly realized how deeply she loved the heated practice and was inspired by the community that surrounds it. In her class, you can expect to find strong and powerful vinyasa flows guided by encouraging instruction that promote body awareness and proper alignment for all types of students. She will safely guide you to challenge your physical yoga practice, no matter your level, in hopes that you explore your flexibility – but have fun in the process of breaking out of your comfort zone. She is grateful to be able to share the benefits that yoga brings and contribute to her yoga community.

Kaity is registered with the Yoga Alliance and received her RYT 200 with Yoga in the World under the guidance of Anayra Calderon, ERYT500.

Anayra Calderon

Anayra has been teaching since 2002 and is a ERYT-500. She started her teaching journey in 2002 and in 2013 Anayra and her business partner created Yoga in the World a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (200 hr RYS).

Anayra's classes are filled with the passion and intensity she feels for yoga. Expect core work, stability training and play. Her students always learn something new about alignment, philosophy and transcending their boundaries in her classes.

Anayra has completed 100 hours of teacher training with Shiva Rea in Elemental and Prana Vinyasa.

In addition to her varied yoga training, Anayra is certified to teach Pilates and studied Thai Yoga Massage with Saul David Raye in 2002.

Anayra also holds a double BA in Religious Studies and Literature from Seton Hall University and a MA in Literature from Seton Hall University.

Jason Morris

 A Senior Yoga Teacher and Teacher Trainer, Jason has worked within the body-mind/fitness industry for more than 15 years and is a recognized Master Teacher in the field.  Primarily influenced by: Sadie Nardini (Core Strength Vinyasa), Jason Crandell (Power + Precision + Mindfulness), and Yogiraj Alan Finger (ISHTA Yoga) - his teaching utlilises his extensive education and experience to help you safely build awareness and strength with the unfamiliar.  Jason also holds extensive training in the Bishnu Ghosh Lineage (Classical Hatha Yoga - more widely known as the Bikram Yoga Lineage), and years of study under the late Guru Namadeva Acharya (Sanskrit Mantra Sadhana). In classes with Jason, you’ll learn how to break the habit of moving only from the outer body and loading layers of tension onto yourself. You will discover how to use the myofascial meridians and kinetic chains along the skeleton to make quick gains in authentic power, making all your poses more possible as you keep your body healthy for years of Yoga to come. Known additionally as an athlete's Yogi, Jason works with professional athletes and Broadway performers to build them for competition/shows, maintain them during off-season, or rehabilitate injuries that arise from performance.  Jason is recognized as anExperienced Registered Yoga Teacher(E-RYT500) by the Yoga Alliance® of America and a Senior Yoga Teacherby the Yoga Alliance UK®  
This class combines the physicality of power yoga; the creative flow of vinyasa; adding attention to alignment, fun and philosophy. This is a strong, challenging class with variations offered for strong beginners.  Build your upper-body and core strength, develop better balance and concentration, while improving your cardiovascular stamina.
 
OPEN TO ALL LEVELS. PRIOR YOGA EXPERIENCE RECOMMENDED.
