Anayra Calderon

Anayra's love of Yoga began when she was an undergraduate student at Seton Hall University where she double majored in Religious Studies and English. After taking a Zen and Yoga class Anayra knew that yoga was something that she would pursue. Anayra went on to receive a master's degree in English Literature and to also become certified in both Yoga and Pilates instruction in 2003.

Anayra completed her initial 200 hour yoga teacher training with The Yoga Institute and continued to pursue her study of yoga with Anusara founder John Friend completing over 100 hours of training with him and over 200 hours of training with seniorAnusara teachers Jackie Prete and Doug Keller.

She has received her Pilates training from Jonathan Urla and is also certified to teach Yogilates. Anayra deepened her knowledge of yoga and therapy by completing a Thai Yoga Therapist program in Santa Barbara with renowed Thai Yoga teacher Saul David Raye.

Anayra has a true love of teaching. When she isn't teaching yoga and pilates, she is a high school English teacher in Jersey City. She has also developed yoga and pilates programs for at-risk teenagers. She is currently working on her second master's degree in education. Anayra is grateful to all of her teachers, past and present and for those still to come.

  • Give yourself a powerful Cardiovascular workout in our Power Vinyasa Class. This Hot Yoga class is a sure-fire way to get an unbelievable yoga workout. There wil be some Intermediate level postures but beginners can do modifications.

  • This class combines the physicality of power yoga; the creative flow of vinyasa; adding attention to alignment, fun and philosophy. This is a strong, challenging class with variations offered for strong beginners. Learn how to take your practice seriously, but yourself lightly.

  • Surya26+ Hot Hatha 75 mins
  • This comprehensive class focuses on building overall strength, flexibility, and balance. This class not only strengthens the major muscle groups, it gives you a great cardio workout. Be prepared to work hard, and feel awesome.


    The class includes endurance and strength building traditional asanas as well as a cardiovascular workout that is different from a Vinyasa flow class.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL LEVELS. Newcomers should look to start with Surya26 Inspired Level 1 (60 Mins).

  • Energize your day with this amazing complete body workout in an hour. It's a great class for people who are inflexible, dealing with injuries, try to build endurance.

  • This class combines the physicality of power yoga; the creative flow of vinyasa; adding attention to alignment, fun and philosophy. This is a strong, challenging class with variations offered for strong beginners.  Build your upper-body and core strength, develop better balance and concentration, while improving your cardiovascular stamina.
