From the first moment Maureen stepped onto her mat, which she affectionately calls her magic carpet, her life was transformed. Maureen received her RYT-200 hour certification from Yoga in the World in partnership with Surya Yoga Academy. She is also trained in Yin.

Hatha-trained with alignment-based focus, Maureen is a dedicated and
passionate individual who will bring the same passion to each and every one of
her classes. Maureen will incorporate the physical and spiritual aspects of this beautiful calming practice. She encourages her students to blossom by integrating the graceful flow of Vinyasa yoga with mindfulness to the connection between the body, mind and breath. Her classes will leave you feeling grounded and balanced while having a great workout.

Maureen creates an authentic space with stimulating asana for all levels of practitioners.

Maureen instructs the following:
  • Surya Warm Yin Flow - Level 1

This is a grounding practice focusing on stretching the deeper connective tissues in the body to improve flexibility while also calming the central nervous system using long slow breaths. Yin yoga is recommended as a complement to any vinyasa practice or active lifestyle.

    Room will be warm.

    RECOMMENDED FOR ALL.

  • Surya Hot Flow
  • Treat yourself to a medley of movement and breath in our open Level Vinyasa class. Be ready to receive a satisfying workout and a calming experience. There will be some Intermediate level postures but beginners can do modifications. Prior Yoga experience recommended. Open to all levels.

  • Surya Hot Power & Mobility Flow
  • Mobility Flow is a unique blend of yoga, mobility exercises, functional fitness, core stability all rolled into one. In a stretching exercise you are targeting muscle tissue. In a mobility exercise you are targeting joints. You’ll experience a dynamic fusion of movements and exercises targeting different areas of your body and build strength, balance, coordination and increased range of motion.

You’ll move, sweat and have fun!

Below are just some of the benefits:

Strength and balance: Regular movement improves your strength and balance, which helps you not only in your every day life but also helps your body feel so much better

Joint health: Mobility exercises strengthen joints and the surrounding muscles. Keeping your joints mobile is super important especially as we get older. The movement also increases blood flow bringing oxygen and nutrients to nourish the joints.

Mental health: Movement releases endorphins and helps relieve stress.

Cardiovascular health: Regular movement can reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease.

Longevity: Mobility & movement can help you live longer and healthier lives.

This practice is good for athletes too! Mobility class will help ease tightness and pain in hips, shoulders, hamstrings as well as help keep your spine mobile. You will notice more flexibility and ease in your regular yoga practice.
